Tax Invoice Generator (Australia)
Create a tax invoice for a sale in Australia: marked as a tax invoice, with your business name and ABN, the date, what you sold, the GST and the total. It works as the receipt a business customer needs to claim a GST credit.
An Australian tax invoice must show that it is intended to be a tax invoice, the seller's identity and ABN, the date, a brief description of what was sold with quantity and price, and the GST, either as an amount or as the words 'Total price includes GST'. For sales of $1,000 or more it must also show the buyer's identity or ABN.

Tax Invoice receipts: what to get right
Under $1,000, and $1,000 or more
The ATO (opens in a new tab) sets two levels. Under $1,000, a tax invoice needs to show it is intended to be a tax invoice, the seller's identity and ABN, the date, a brief description with quantity and price, and the GST, which can be shown as an amount or, where it is exactly one-eleventh of the total, as the words 'Total price includes GST'. From $1,000, it must also show the buyer's identity or ABN.
When a customer asks for one
If a customer asks for a tax invoice, the ATO requires you to provide it within 28 days, unless the sale was $82.50 or less including GST. Business customers ask because they generally need a tax invoice to claim the GST credit on the purchase. Keep a copy of every one you issue.
