How to Find an Old Target Receipt (4 Ways)

Target keeps a copy of nearly every receipt: if you used your Target Circle account, the Target app, a Target Circle Card, or any credit or debit card, the purchase is retrievable. The app is the first place to look — in-store receipts tied to your account appear there automatically — and Guest Services can search by payment card for the rest.

Method 1: the Target app (fastest)

If you scanned your Target Circle barcode, paid with a saved card, or used the app's wallet at checkout, the receipt is already in your account:

1. Open the Target app and tap your account icon.
2. Open Purchases (or Orders → In-store).
3. Select the trip — the full itemized receipt appears, with a barcode Guest Services can scan for returns.

Method 2: Target.com order history

Online, pickup and delivery orders live under Account → Orders on target.com, each with a printable itemized receipt showing payment method and tax — sufficient for expense reports per the standards in what is an itemized receipt.

Method 3: Guest Services card lookup

For in-store purchases made without the app or Circle account, bring the physical card you paid with to Guest Services. Target's system locates transactions by that card — typically up to a year back for returns purposes. You will want the approximate date; a card statement pins it down. Method 4: reprint from the receipt barcode

What if you paid cash without Circle?

Then Target has no thread to pull: no card, no account, no lookup.
